2017 House Structure, Rules & Regulations & Age Group Coordinators

Under 5/6/7:

This is the GISC House program for U5/U6/U7 aged players (per the GISC house soccer age group matrix). This is a program where all players will play the entire time and will benefit from more “touches” on the ball. There are no formal teams across these age groups, as players will rotate through the drills and several small-sided games with the help of facilitators. This program offers an ideal blend of “fun” for the kids, as well as activities to begin teaching the basic fundamentals of the game. (with players typically separated by the U5 – U6 – U7 age groups).

This program typically scheduled to begin in the late June time frame, to be held at Veteran's Park Fields.

The instructional schedules for U5, U6 & U7 are now available see details

Under 8:

The Under 8 program is a bit different that the U5/U6/U7 program as this program starts to introduce formal games/teams to the kids. The first 10 minutes of every game will often be some degree of “team practice” – then to transition into the games accordingly. Note, U8 teams play against one another in 5V5 games (4 field players plus a goalie) on a “smaller” field size (age appropriate), with games made up of four 10 minute quarters.

Games will typically be played on Saturdays (mornings/early PM), as well as potentially certain week days, at Veteran's Park Fields.

Note - Referees are used for this program/games.

As with the other GISC HOUSE Soccer age groups and programs, the priority is first to offer a FUN/SOCIAL environment for the kids.

Coordinator: to be announced

Under 9/10:

Note that the U9/U10 playing field is larger than the U8 field -- The nets are bigger, and there are more players on the field at one time than there were in the younger age group(s). Also note that the U9/U10 house league/division will follow FIFA rules; with referees being used. All teams play in a 7v7 format (6 field players and a goalie). Games will typically be four 15 minute quarters. Games will generally be played on Saturdays between the hours of 9 am, and early afternoon, and also one random day during the week with a start time at approximately 6:30pm. No results are kept but are monitored by the GISC club. In addition to playing House League, players who have mastered a high level of soccer ability for this age group may be playing Travel Soccer and those who are not yet doing so, should be encouraged to try out for Travel Soccer to play teams from other towns. Held at Veteran's Park Fields.

As with the other GISC HOUSE Soccer age groups and programs, the priority is first to offer a FUN/SOCIAL environment for the kids.

Under 15:

Please refer to the Age Group Matrix (pdf) for details. Note, that a player can play up one age group, but cannot play down.

The Under 15 age group is typically a very social, less “competitive/serious” profile of games. First and foremost (like the rest of the GISC house program/age groups) is meant to be FUN!

Note - This age group will follow FIFA rules. All teams shall play in either 9v9, 10v10, or 11v11 format (TBA). Games will typically be two 40 minute halves. Referees are used. Held at Veteran's Park Fields.
